Hospitality Ministry
It isn't because we are "good 'ole Baptists" that we enjoy food and fellowship on a regular basis--it's because we're "good 'ole Believers."   The Scripture points to hospitality as being a bedrock discipline of the early church.  "They devoted themselves...to the breaking of bread" (Acts 2:42).  Paul writes, "Seek to show hospitality" (Romans 12:13); the author of Hebrews warns, "Do not neglect to show hospitality;" and Peter encourages, "Show hospitality to one another without grumbling" (1 Peter 4:9).  At Crystal Valley Baptist Church, we seek to cultivate a covenant community with hospitality "for the glory of God" (I Cor. 10:31).

Home-Based Hospitality

The Scripture describes the context for the early church's hospitality:  "[And] they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts" (Acts 2:46).  At Crystal Valley Baptist Church, we strongly encourage our members and guests to share fellowship together around their own family tables on a consistent basis.  It's important that God's community functions together just as deliberately outside the church house as they do inside it.

Refreshments Fellowships

To promote deeper conversation interaction among our people, Crystal Valley Baptist Church schedules a monthly "Refreshments Fellowship" following our Sunday evening service (every final Sunday of the month).  Centered around our unity in the Gospel and some good finger-foods, "Refreshments Fellowships" are known to produce laughing, crying, caring, and accountability among those who attend.
