WHAT TO EXPECT?

Its never easy visiting a church for the first time, let alone investigating one's options for a new church home.  To help make the process a little easier, the following was written to offer online guests a picture of what they can expect when visiting one of Crystal Valley Baptist Church's weekly services.

Before the Service
Like most churches, Crystal Valley Baptist utilizes the hour preceding it's main gathering time on Sundays for discipleship and Bible training.  Our Sunday School classes meet from 10am to 10:45 and are divided into four groups.

  ▪ Men's "Knowing God" Study [Tim Allen]
  ▪ Ladies' "Twelve Extraordinary Women" Study [Andrea Loyd]
  ▪ Older Ladies' "LifeWay Quarterly Series" [Opal Meadows & JoAnn Killmer]
  ▪ Children Desiring God [Tim & Amy Kinnard]

During the Service
The main gathering time for Crystal Valley Baptist is at 11am on Sundays.

The Teaching
At Crystal Valley Baptist, our pastors are committed to the verse-by-verse exposition of scripture as a primary means to congregational instruction.  As such, every week members and visitors hear a message derived from a single portion of the Bible, most often related to a series of messages themselves derived from a select book of the Bible.

After the Service
Once the morning service has ended, and the congregation dismissed, "church" for Crystal Valley Baptist is anything but over.  Because we don't associate true worship and fellowship merely with one 1-hour service on Sunday mornings, opportunities exist after the service for members and visitors to utilize as well.  Among those opportunities are the following:

  ▪ "The Open Invitation." Interested in learning more about the church?  Directly following the services, our pastors are available (and desire!) to meet with you if you have any questions.  They also are available to offer guidance and prayer if asked.  This "open-invitation" extends beyond Sunday mornings and includes the entire week.  Don't hesitate to contact them.

  ▪ Individual Hospitality. Not uncommon for our church members is to casually invite one another (and even visitors) 'out to lunch', 'over for dinner,' or 'out to coffee' as a way to build community, promote friendship and fellowship, and to foster accountability.

  ▪ Sunday Evening Bible Study; 6
pm

  ▪ Midweek Care Group/Prayer Meeting; Wednesdays @ 7
pm
